How to change the data source of a report

Changing the data source location in Crystal Reports s required if someone sends you a report that uses a database that has a different location than your system, or if you have changed the directory or disk location of the data source (database)

To change an existing report to connect to the database if the database has been moved to a new location or if the database has been renamed, use the ‘Set Location’ command.

1. From the tool bar, click on Database, choose Set Datasource Location.

2. Once the Set Location dialog box appears, highlight/click on the database or table in the Current Data Source window (top half)  that you want to replace.

3. Highlight the database or table in the Replace with window  (bottom half) that you want to use.

4. Click Update.

5. Once complete, click close.
